Pet loss gifts

Pet loss gifts that say their name

When a friend loses their dog or cat, a portrait drawn with the pet’s name and a few kind words tells them you remember too. One of the most personal pet loss gifts you can give.

Luna, 2011 – 2024: My good girl, Forever loved, See you at the Rainbow Bridge, You were my home
Up close, every word reads

Why it works as a sympathy gift

Most pet sympathy gifts are about loss: a candle, a card, a stone. This one is about the pet. It shows their face and says their name, again and again, in every line.

You choose the words: their name, the years, a nickname, a line from you. If you know the pet, add what you remember. If you do not, keep it simple: the name and "forever loved" is enough.

How to get the photo without spoiling the surprise

Use a photo they posted or sent you, ask a family member, or say you would like a copy of your favorite picture of their pet. Any clear photo where the face is visible works.

A photo, your words, their portrait

Every line of the picture is a phrase you wrote. From across the room you see your pet; up close you read what they meant to you.

Questions

What should I write in a pet loss gift?

The pet’s name, the years if you know them, and a few warm, simple lines: "forever loved", "the best good boy", "thank you for the joy". Our pet loss quotes page has many more, including words of sympathy for the owner.

Is it too soon to give it?

People usually welcome it in the first weeks; a portrait with the pet’s name tells them you understand the loss is real. If unsure, give a card first and the portrait later.

Can it be shipped straight to them?

Yes: at checkout you can enter their address as the delivery address.
